2025 Plan Changes
These are the changes we communicated during the 2025 Open Enrollment period (November 4 – 18, 2024).
Open Enrollment: The Short and Sweet Version
Here’s our hot take on what you need to know for this year’s Open Enrollment:
- Open Enrollment begins Monday, November 4 and ends Monday, November 18.
- If you do not take action during the Open Enrollment period, your benefits from 2024 will continue in 2025, EXCEPT any Flexible Spending Account (FSA). You must re-enroll in the FSA every year.
- Visit mykkbenefits.com to review your elections and/or enroll.
- We’re making some changes to our benefits for 2025 that you’ll want to learn about. Be sure to sample them before you place your order!
- If you’re a full-time Krispy Kremer, you can sweeten your contribution to the Health Care FSA and HSA.
- The Health Care FSA (General and Limited Purpose) maximum contribution is $3,300 for 2025.
- The IRS limits the amount you may contribute to your HSA each year. The limit for 2025 is $4,300 for employee-only coverage and $8,550 for family coverage.* But remember! Krispy Kreme also contributes to your HSA if you’re enrolled in the Original HSA Plan.
- In 2025, the 401(k) annual maximum contribution amount will increase to $23,500. Participants aged 50 and over can contribute an additional $7,500 and participants aged 60-63 can contribute up to $11,250. All plan eligible Krispy Kremers can change their 401(k) contribution amount anytime during the year.
- Make sure your personal information (email address, phone number and home mailing address) is up to date in the system.
- Confirm that Social Security numbers and birth dates are accurate for all the dependents you’re covering in 2025.
- If you need help or have any questions, call the Benefits Center at 855-730-8654.
- The benefits elections you make during Open Enrollment go into effect on January 1, 2025.
* If you’re 55 or older, the limit is $5,300 for employee-only coverage and $9,550 for family coverage.
Plan Changes for 2025
Changes in Medical Plan Premiums
The Krispy Kreme benefits team works diligently to try to minimize Krispy Kremers’ medical plan premiums while driving value in an ever-increasing healthcare environment. In 2024, medical plan premiums did not increase; however, depending on the medical plan you enroll in for 2025, your weekly premiums (paycheck contributions) may increase, decrease or stay the same:
- Original HSA Plan: Your weekly premiums for this plan will increase for all tiers of coverage. But remember, if you elect this plan, you may also contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA), and Krispy Kreme will make a quarterly contribution too.
- Sprinkles HSA Plan: Your weekly premiums for this plan depend on the number of people you’re covering. For employee-only coverage, your premiums will stay the same as last year. If you’re covering yourself and just your spouse, or yourself and just your child(ren), your premiums will decrease. If you’re covering your family (yourself, your spouse and children), your premiums will increase. With the Sprinkles Plan, you also get to contribute to a Health Savings Account to help cover costs.
- Kreme Filled Open Access Plus (OAP) Plan: Your weekly premiums for this plan will increase for all tiers of coverage.
Out-of-Pocket Maximum Decrease
Here’s a treat you’ll enjoy! The annual cap on the maximum amount you’re responsible for paying in 2025 (called the out-of-pocket maximum) is decreasing in both the Kreme Filled OAP Plan and the Sprinkles HSA Plan for 2025. That means that the most you’ll pay from your own pocket is lower than it was in 2024—Krispy Kreme will kick in sooner!
New Cigna Extras
Sure, your Cigna plan provides comprehensive medical coverage. But it gets even batter: Cigna offers its members many additional benefits at no additional cost, including these new Cigna extras in 2025:
- Cigna Pathwell Bone & Joint: If you’re dealing with back, hip, knee or shoulder pain, this program matches you with a dedicated clinical care advocate who will customize a treatment program for you, based on your unique needs. You can work with your advocate via digital messaging or by phone.
- Cigna Oncology Consult Service: Receiving a cancer diagnosis is extremely difficult and stressful. Under Cigna’s Oncology Consult Service, if you or a family member receives a cancer diagnosis, Cigna can help you navigate this difficult process to initiate consultation for a second opinion and help to make sure you have access to high-quality, appropriate care while minimizing costs.
- Cigna Healthcare well-being solution: Making your health a priority is easy with the new Cigna Healthcare well-being solution, powered by Virgin Pulse. Virgin Pulse offers a state-of-the-art digital experience that will put you on the path to healthy change. You’ll be treated to behavioral science-based incentives and healthy peer-to-peer challenges.
Lower Dental Premiums and a New Dental Carrier
We’re thrilled to announce that we’re switching dental carriers to Delta Dental of North Carolina for 2025. Delta Dental is the nation’s largest dental network, with more than 4,000 participating dentists in North Carolina.
And here’s the icing on the cake (doughnut): With Delta Dental, your weekly premiums will decrease in 2025! You’ll pay less for dental care, whether you enroll in the Core or the Premium plan. Reminder: You will realize higher value from dental coverage if you utilize it for preventive care (i.e., twice annual check-ups).

Vision. Don’t let your eyes glaze over! You have two EyeMed vision plan options to help you see clearly: the Standard plan and the Premier plan. And we’re happy to report there will be no increase in premiums in 2025.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). You dough-not want to miss this great savings opportunity. FSAs are tax-savings accounts for health care and/or dependent care expenses. You’ll be able to contribute up to $3,300 to a Health Care FSA or up to $5,000 to a Dependent Care FSA in 2025. If you have an HSA, you can contribute up to $3,300 to a Limited Purpose Health Care FSA, which can be used for dental and vision expenses but not medical expenses.
Life Insurance. Basic life insurance is provided to full-time Krispy Kremers, but you can elect to supplement your basic coverage with additional insurance for yourself or your dependents. Make sure your beneficiary information is up to date!
Accidental Death and Dismemberment. You may elect coverage in increments of $10,000, up to the lesser of $500,000 or 10 times your annual pay.
Disability. You can elect disability insurance to receive a portion of your paycheck while you’re out on short- or long-term disability. Full-time salaried Krispy Kremers will receive short- and long-term disability coverage at no cost in 2025.
Group Accident. If you elect group accident insurance, you’ll be eligible to receive a benefit to help cover the costs of treatment if you’re in an accident.
Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity. These benefits pay a lump-sum amount to you if you’re diagnosed with a critical illness or admitted to the hospital.
Pet Insurance. Protect yourself from the high cost of pet health care by electing one of our two pet insurance plans: Accident Only or Accident and Illness. To be eligible for the Accident and Illness benefit, your pet must be no older than 10 years.
